Cooperative Education

The purpose of cooperative education is to provide the student with competencies developed through paid supervision on-the-job training related to an occupational goal.

Students must complete 50% of program's hours to be eligible. Employer must be able to provide the remaining training. Instructors must recommend student and the student must complete the formal application. 


Who is eligible?

Students enrolled at George Stone in any program except: Aviation, Cosmetology, Law Enforcement/Corrections, Emergency Medical Technician, and Home Health Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant.


What are the benefits?

The benefits of cooperative education is that the student remains enrolled at George Stone. They gain work experience, earn an income, receive a George Stone certificate, and remain eligible for Pell Grants and/or V.A. benefits.
