ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA
The School Board of Escambia County, Florida, convened in Special Budget Workshop Meeting at 9:14 a.m., in the Board Room at the Administrative Building, 215 West Garden Street, with the following present:

I. CALL TO ORDER
The workshop was called to order at 9:14 a.m.
II. FINANCE
1) 1999-2000 PROPOSED BUDGET
The following documents were provided for Board review:
A. "School District of Escambia County 1999-2000 Budget Workshop June 23, 1999"
B. "School District of Escambia County 1999-2000 Proposed Budget - Book I Departmental Budgets"
C. "School District of Escambia County 1999-2000 Proposed Budget - Book III"
Mrs. Patricia Wascom, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Business Affairs, presented information concerning the Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP), impact of funding on the School District, and preliminary budget information. She advised that the Board was previously provided handouts entitled "Understanding School Finance and Developing the Budget." Budget handouts entitled "School District of Escambia County 1999-2000 Proposed Budget - Book III" will be subsequently provided to Board Members. Ms. Barbara Linker, Director of Budgeting, discussed information concerning millage and projected revenues. Mrs. Rita Scallan, Financial Analyst, gave an overview of the capital outlay budget process. Mr. Ted Kirchharr, Director of Facilities Planning, spoke concerning the Five-Year Work Program. Following a brief question and answer session, Mrs. Wascom announced that the second workshop on the budget will be held on July 14, 1999, at 9:00 a.m.
