The School Board of Escambia County, Florida, convened in Special Presentations Workshop Meeting at 9:00 a.m., in the Board Room at the Administrative Building, 215 West Garden Street, with the following present:

Superintendent of Schools: Mr. Jim May

I. CALL TO ORDER

The workshop was called to order at 9:00 a.m.

II. COMMENTS FROM SUPERINTENDENT

Mr. May thanked staff for giving the following presentations which were aligned with the

District Strategic Aims.

1) PRESENTATION: CAPITAL OUTLAY BUDGET

Ms. Barbara Linker, Director of Budgeting, provided handouts and gave an overview of the Capital Outlay Budget.

2) PRESENTATION: DRUG TESTING PROCEDURES

Dr. Douglas Garber, Director, Employee Services, discussed drug testing procedures and answered questions from Board Members.

3) PRESENTATION: OUT-OF-FIELD TEACHERS

Ms. Teenie Wehmeier, Certification Officer, reviewed guidelines and requirements for out-of-field teachers. A brief question and answer session was held.

III. ADJOURNMENT
