The School Board of Escambia County, Florida, convened in Special Meeting at 8:00 a.m. in the Board Room at the Dr. Vernon McDaniel (Administration) Building, 215 West Garden Street, Pensacola, Florida, with the following present:

Chairman: Dr. John DeWitt Vice Chairman: Mrs. Cary Stidham

Members: Mr. Gary L. Bergosh

Mrs. Linda Finkelstein (was not present)

Dr. Elmer Jenkins (was not present)

School Board Attorney: Mr. Francisco Negron (was not present)

Superintendent of Schools: Mr. Jim Paul (was not present)

(Note that Dr. John DeWitt, Mrs. Cary Stidham, Mr. Gary L. Bergosh, Mrs. Linda Finkelstein, Dr. Elmer Jenkins, Mr. Francisco Negron, and Mr. Jim Paul were in attendance at the Executive Session which immediately followed this meeting.)

I. ADOPTION OF AGENDA

Motion by Mrs. Stidham, second by Mr. Bergosh, to adopt the agenda, was approved 3-0 with Mrs. Finkelstein and Dr. Jenkins absent.

II. REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS LITIGATION (SJS v. School Board, U.S. District Court, Case No.: 3:00CV199/LAC/MD; SJS v. School Board, U.S. District Court, Case No.: 3:00CV197/LAC/SMN; and SJS v. School Board and Florida Department of Education, DOAH Case Number: 00-4112-E)

Motion by Mrs. Stidham, second by Mr. Bergosh, to go into Executive Session to discuss litigation, was approved 3-0 with Mrs. Finkelstein and Dr. Jenkins absent.

III. ADJOURNMENT
